Glass Series 2.0
Mixed Media on 3 layers of glass - Framed
About the Artwork: Inner Growth is a vivid exploration of transformation from within. Through layers of colour, form, and transparency, the work reflects the many ways growth manifests: cellular, cosmic, and emotional. Floating abstract shapes suggest life at its smallest scale, while divine star-like forms and organic, linear growth patterns speak to nature’s slow, evolving rhythm. Unexpected, spiked elements interrupt this flow, symbolising the moments of disruption that, though challenging, often become catalysts for deeper transformation.
At the centre, the neon pink Jen Head stands stoic and strong, a nod to the feminine journey of endurance, reflection, and renewal. As in Jenna Ingram’s Glass Series 1.0, shapes and symbols drift from within and around the head, expressing the flow of consciousness and the unseen forces that shape our inner worlds.
Inner Growth is both introspective and expansive, a celebration of the quiet, unseen evolution that defines our human experience.
About the Artist:
Jenna Ingram is a versatile artist who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Canterbury University in 2007. Her creative journey has spanned various mediums and styles, including portraiture, landscapes and cityscapes. However, over the past eight years, she has dedicated her practice exclusively to urban art through her signature character, Jen Heads. This "mask" has undergone numerous iterations, reflecting Ingram's lived and artistic evolution. In addition to her work as an artist, Ingram works full-time as a Picture Framer, is a mother, and has also been instrumental in managing her and her husband's business, Fiksate Gallery (now online only), for the last 10 years, further contributing to the urban contemporary art community.
